Quality Sterling Silver Christening Mug in Original Case
A fine quality sterling silver mug in original fitted case.
The mug is in wonderful condition with no personalisation or marks (very faint rub to body presumably from cleaning) and has a gilt interior. It is clearly hallmarked for London 1891 and with makers marks for Garrard & Co. (also on base under hallmarks are scratched in letters).
The mug measures 7.5cm high x 9.5cm across handle and weighs a good 180g.
The tooled leather case is lined on one side with blue satin and the other blue velvet and it fastens perfectly. The outer covering of the case is brown leather with gold outline and has some wear and losses as would be expected of an item over 130 years old.
Traditionally called a Christening mug, this would be the perfect gift for many different occasions such as silver anniversaries, graduations or milestone birthdays.
A quality item that is in particularly good condition.
