Hjaltasteyn Sterling Silver Valkyrie Pendant and Chain - Hallmarked

This lovely, vintage pendant is by the Shetland jeweller Hjaltasteyn Ltd. It is in the form of a Valkyrie, the females from Norse mythology who, on Odin's instruction, would take to the battlefields and select the fallen warriors who were deemed worthy of being taken to Valhalla to spend the afterlife there.

This depiction is crafted from sterling silver and is hallmarked to back for Edinburgh 1977. It measures 4.1cm long x 3.5cm wide and is on an 18" sterling silver curb chain.

Condition is very good for being almost 50 years old with only some extremely fine marks to front. Will be sent in a new black pendant box as shown.
